European Equities Trading

Does anyone here know anything about European equities. While I am comfortable with the US Economy Europe I know absolutely nothing about. Anyone know any sites that I could browse to learn more. I am interested in the legalities, government oversight etc. Thanks.

The first 5 minutes at the open I have never in my 6 years of watching the market seen it behave that way. I expected the collapse but the subsequent rally of 500 points out of nowhere. Really makes you wonder.... WAS THIS IT!?

How are the big funds doing?

So I am wondering how the big hedge funds out there are doing in this environment. I have heard rumors some some of the big names SAC Citadel are getting pounded pretty hard. Im looking for more to read on the subject. All the people that made ridiculous returns while applying leverage are now being slapped in the face. Every major strategy that was working has blown up during this deleveraging. Equity markets have collapsed, risk arb spreads have dramatically widened, commodity markets have collapsed, credit trading is frozen, even the major currency pairs against the dollar have collapsed. Basically every trade that was working has blew up. It seems that the only trade out there that is working is long VOL.

Who has benefited? My guess is the short term traders that trade small enough size to get in and out of positions at a moments notice and anyone who had the courage to fade the dominate strategies of the past few years.

What are everyone thoughts?

Lightspeed Platform

Im looking into the lightspeed trading platform for my DMA equity trading. I have used Etrade (what a fucking joke), and interactive brokers for equity trading but neither of them are a real good full platform for active traders.

This is a stretch but does anyone have any experience with lightspeed?

So fed doesnt cut rates. Fed Fund futures were pricing in like an 80% probability of a cut. Market craps out, snaps right back. Head fake of the year. Insane what a head fake.
