if you're at a non-target

if you're at a non-target school, major in accounting, and if not accounting then finance.

if you're at Yale, major in whatever you want.

If you go to UMich, try to

If you go to UMich, try to get into their business school. It's a great school for Ibanking.

top accounting program

the school im going to be in is known for accounting, however they do have a trading room and a pretty good finance program. I figured both majors would suit a career in ib.

yes, Michigan is probably

yes, Michigan is probably one of hte top 3 most heavily recruited schools; problem is, i've heard econ majors there are kinda seen as being not smart enough to hack it in the b-school.

but i would imagine that, once you're inside Ross, it doesn't matter that much what major/concentration you pick.

UK Students

In the UK, because many of the Top Universities only allow you to study finance at Master level (apart from the LSE) it it much more dependant on the quality of the University you get admission into...

Finance combos

I would say that for UK universities it depends on the particular institution and on how you can/they allow you to structure your course. If the course if pretty flexible you could take lots of finance modules.
