Want to Earn Some Cash?
Hey everyone, Happy Labor Day!
I wanted to reach out to everyone to give you an opportunity to earn some extra cash and help WSO at the same time.
I am looking to fill up the sponsorships to the forums to help fund a lot of web development that is going on in the background to give you improved features, layout and look. The problem is I am pretty busy with school about to start, managing the web development and marketing and I figured the collective user group on WSO probably has many more ideas than my small team.
Anyway, I wanted to offer you the same commission that I offer the few guys that help me out already. If you can identify and place any new sponsors to the forums that don't have sponsors yet I will pay you 50% of the first month sale, 25% of the 2nd month and 10% for months 3 through 12 (assuming the sponsor stays on). If you're interested just drop me an e-mail at Ads@wallstreetoasis.com.
Thanks,
Patrick
New and Improved Search Module
As you might have noticed, we have launched a new and improved search module with Google's technology.
Now you should be able to find a lot of the rich content on WSO in the archives MUCH easier. In addition, you can now search with two or three letters no problem (ie "MS" or "GS", "tmt", etc) and still get results.
Many, many, many other improvements are on there way in the coming weeks. Please stay tuned.
In other news, we are now over 15,000 registered members strong. While we are a little behind my goal to reach 20k registered members by the end of 2008 I know it's still possible so any help on that front recruiting your friends and colleagues would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Patrick
Re-release of 2008 Recruiter Database!
Hey guys, coming to you from Siem Reap in Cambodia, I have released a new and improved version of the 2008 Recruiter Database. You just have to log in (or register if you haven't already) to view it and click on "Recruiter Database" in the green welcome block to see it.
This list is more extensive than the one I had up previously and also includes websites (where all the data was compiled) and location. Please note, I know some of the locations are chopped off depending on your screen resolution and I will work to fix that when I get back from SE Asia.
Hopefully you guys find this list helpful. If any recruiters want to be added to the list please e-mail me at wallstreetoasis@wallstreetoasis.com.
Also, some good news on the web developer front. Looks like I may have found another talented Drupal developer that should help us continue to make improvements to WSO and bring it to the next level (functionality, look, etc.).
Thanks,
Patrick

New Training Partnership
It has been a while since my last blog post but I wanted to announce WallStreetOasis.com's new partnership with The Analyst Exchange, a one-on-one training program to develop the necessary financial modeling skills to break into investment banking and private equity.
The reason I went with these guys is that their courses are extremely thorough and i am a strong believer in their model of 1 on 1 training for the best learning experience. As part of the partnership, WallStreetOasis.com members can save money by purchasing the courses through here: http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/training-basic-plan
The basic plan is great for summer analysts and new full time hires to prepare for their new career, the Interview Prep is great for students trying to prepare for the recruiting process: http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/training-interview-prep
After personally having gone through the materials in detail I can honestly say that this would have been a huge help to me before i started my analyst program back in 2002 (especially coming from a liberal arts background).
If you're looking for training or to sharpen your modeling skills and understanding of the 3 statements, merger models and LBO models, etc. I really think this program is extremely thorough and you have the added guidance of an instructor (1 on 1)to make sure you understand every detail / concept. The instructors work with you to make a plan that fits into your schedule and all of them are super accomplished. (see bios below) if you have any question you can e-mail info@theanalystexchange.com
