What does anybody know about Credit Suisse's general reputation for banking? In particular, I am interested in the financial sponsors group/lev fin. Thanks.

If you are going to be working in an office in a location other then where the summer training will take place, will the firm pay for you to stay in corporate housing while you are training or are you on your own to find a place for a couple of months. I.E. you are going to work in San Francisco, but all of the new analyst class will be doing their training in New York

I go to an ivy. I didn't get any offer through my school's preselect process. Right now, should I still bother apply online to all the big banks (alot of them still allow you to apply for summer SA)? Much appreciated.

So my GPA is around a 2.9 but through networking, etc. I've managed to pile up some great finance experience and activities (I'm at a semi-target on the West coast)

I've managed to get 3-4 interviews at boutiques for analyst and a BA interview at a BB...

I just sent this to someone and realized it may be useful to others. This was sent to me by an alumni at a BB I was interviewing for re: what to prepare for. This should not be used as EVERYTHING, but covers most of it.

Make sure you know the following:

Technical part (60-80% depending on an inverviewer):

Hiring is more slim this year for sure.

I am nervously anticipating news from a PE firm who's only hiring a few people from the entire country after doing all that recruiting.

That's the number. UBS lost a bunch of money, so bonuses weren't about to be great, but what the *@#$ is that?

Is the SEC seen as a meddlesome organization or a good federal arm that restores investor confidence? I mean after reading their press releases from the last two years, it makes me wonder just what you guys think of the federal agency? Thanks.

After getting passed over for a lot of interviews with BBs and the big name MMs, I'm considering taking a four week I-Banking summer program in Switzerland that is supposedly taught by VPs and MDs at big name NYC firms. It features rigorous academics (nine hours of class per day, plus several hours of group work).

i just finished a superday with a BB. I think my interviews went well. It was almost all fit. If I do have an offer, when should I expect to hear back?

I have a question. If after a first round interview, the recruiter says she will get back to you either way with a decision within the week and then 2 weeks go by and you still hear nothing, does that mean you were dinged? I emailed a recruiter at a BB asking my status and she said they were still going through the candidates and deciding

What has your interview been like? Does your interviewer give you clues that you are in or you are out?

1. Is it bad when they only asked you a few questions but talking a lot about their own career?

2. The interview also made suggestions such as I should look into more fields and more opportunities than just "IB" (I think this is a bad sign).
